-Whatever Heaven You Believe In-

"For some reason, I have a feeling that I don’t have that long left here, and I just wish we could have had more time. Then again, there’s never enough time, is there? The seconds stretch on forever when you’re in them, but suddenly you look back and everything you’ve ever known is falling behind you. Just like that, you find yourself wishing there was a way to somehow go back.

Still, while time takes away what was once myself and makes my hair grey and my heart tired, I remember your hand in mine and the way you looked at me when I fell in love with you for the first time, and perhaps it’s dramatic and trite coming from the mouth of someone as young and silly and sad as me, but I love, have loved and will love you as long as you are you and I am me.

And after all this, I just want to make sure you know that life is still here. Life is still here even when bad things happen. But those things mustn’t define you. Being human is tragic and painful, sometimes, but it’s brilliant too. Just remember that the presence of ugliness does not invalidate beauty, and that the world is not a cold, dead place.

So fly, Blackbird. Just fly, and maybe someday you’ll reach whatever heaven you believe in. Perhaps it’s behind silver gates, or maybe it’s just a warm, dark place where you close your eyes and know that everything is all right. 

Whatever and wherever heaven may be, we’ll both get there some day, and I’ll see you soon."
